Frequently asked questions
Who are we?
We all have things sitting around that we don't use anymore: the jacket from two closets ago, the blender that only came out once, the books that already did their job. They're not trash. They're just stuck.
Toki exists to get them unstuck.
We're a circular economy initiative built by Paul, Mac, April, and Yans from AIM MIB2026B, with one simple belief: every item deserves to be used to its fullest potential, whether that's with you, with someone else, or in a new form entirely.
We make it easy to give your things a second life through resale, donation, or upcycling, without you having to become a part-time thrift store owner. No photographing ten items for five different marketplaces. No haggling with strangers. No guessing where things end up.
You hand it over. We take it from there.
Toki is convenience for the conscious consumer: for people who don't want their stuff to end up as clutter or landfill, but also don't have the time, energy, or patience to sell it themselves.
Is Toki a marketplace?
No. Toki isn't a place to list and sell your items yourself. You're always free to use existing marketplaces. We take the item off your hands entirely and handle the selling, donating, or upcycling for you. Think of us less as a marketplace and more as your circular economy concierge.
Do I have to pay to use Toki?
Yes. There is an upfront pickup fee to get started. It covers the real cost of storing, sorting, and curating your items for resale, upcycling, or donation, whether or not an item sells.
For items that sell, 50% of the net sale is still credited back to you on top of that. The more sellable items you send our way, the more that upfront cost starts paying for itself.
This isn't the platform for someone looking to maximize resale value. Our pricing is built for speed, not for squeezing out the highest possible price. If getting top dollar matters most to you, reselling it yourself is the better route.
What if I'd rather resell it myself?
Go for it. Toki doesn't offer consignment yet, so if you want full control over pricing and profit, existing marketplaces are still your best bet. Toki is here for when convenience matters more than maximizing every peso.
Will I know what happens to my item?
Yes. Every item is tracked, so you'll know exactly where it ended up, whether it was sold, donated, or broken down for parts.
What items do you accept?
We're still in alpha, so for now we only accept items we can move quickly and confidently, with reliable partners on the other end:
- Books
- Clothing in good condition
- Shoes in good condition
- Usable sporting equipment
- Electronics
- Appliances
- Kitchenware
- Bags
Larger items like furniture are on our roadmap. We're just not quite there yet.
What items don't you accept?
Toki isn't a trash disposal service, so we can't take:
- Broken items with no working or salvageable parts
- Hazardous items, including leaking batteries
- Expired medicine or food
- Anything wet or contaminated
If it can't be sold, donated, or upcycled by someone, we're probably not the right fit for it yet.
What areas do you serve?
BGC now. Makati and Ortigas next.
